Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Saffron Terror or Hindutva terrorism is a neologism that refers to a few terrorist attacks in India suspected to have been perpetrated by extreme Hindu nationalist groups. It is largely viewed as a term mooted by self declared secular elements to balance Islamic terrorism and there by save Muslims from being scapegoated in the name of terrorism. Pseudo-Secular groups have claimed that there is a religious terrorist group behind the, seemingly random, attacks against Indian Muslims in recent years. The more controversial phrase of "Hindu terrorism" entered public debate in India following the 29 September 2008 western India bombings. The term has been criticized as a "myth" and as a tool for political posturing toward the Muslim minority. BJP president Rajnath Singh has denounced such claims as "vilification of Hindu saints and army officers in the name of Hindu terrorism".
