Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Yakaz is an online platform for local classifieds and discussions. Available worldwide, the site focuses on online interactions between neighbors. Users can access millions of listings throughout the web, but also post ads, share information and use real-time messaging tools. In 2005, Mathurin Ducastelle and Frédéric Mahé, two former AOL directors, founded Yakaz and launched a vertical search engine dedicated to classified ads. Yakaz was fully revamped in fall 2010, offering much more than a search engine to its 15 million monthly unique visitors, including ad posting and instant messaging. Yakaz totally changed its interface, adding many features to the original project developed five years before. Originally available in ten countries Yakaz is now available across all countries of the world and in 50 languages.
