Fasciola gigantica, causative agent of tropical fasciolosis, inflicts substantial economic losses on the livestock industry, affecting severely the animal productivity in the tropical countries. Very few vaccination trials with different target antigens against F. gigantica infection have been conducted in ruminant. Present study describes the large scale expression and purification of F. gigantica fatty acid binding protein and glutathione S-transferase in prokaryotic expression system, Escherichia coli so that a successful immunoprophylactic control measures against tropical fasciolosis can be designed.
