Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The 1949 Masters Tournament was contested from April 7 to April 10 at Augusta National Golf Club. It was the 13th Masters Tournament. This was the first year that the famous Green Jacket was awarded to the tournament winner. Sam Snead shot back-to-back rounds of 67 in the final round to win by three strokes. This would be Snead's first of three Masters victories. The Masters Tournament, also known as The Masters (sometimes referred to as The U.S. Masters outside of the United States), is one of the four major championships in professional golf.
