Dalip Singh Saund (September 20, 1899–April 22, 1973) was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from Riverside, California. He served as the United States Representative from the 29th District of California from January 3, 1957–January 3, 1963. He was the first Sikh-American, Asian-American, and Indian-American member of the United States Congress. In 1960 he wrote an autobiography titled Congressman from India. In May 1962, he suffered a severe stroke which left him unable to speak at all, or walk without assistance, thus ending his congressional career.
