The Vilnius trolleybus system is the one of existing systems in Lithuania. It operates in the capital city of Vilnius, the operator company is Vilniaus troleibusai Ltd. The fleet consists of 321 trolleybuses, 259 of which are working on working-days, 130 - on saturdays, 126 - on sundays. The first trolleybus network in Lithuania, the Vilnius trolleybus network, opened in 1956. On October 1956, the Vilnius trolleybus office was created, the contact network of length of 7.8 kilometers and trolleybus depot were built. First seven trolleybuses MTB-82D entered the streets on November 3. The first route was Antakalnis - Vilnius railway station.
