Roman Steinberg (April 5, 1900 – April 16, 1928) from Tallinn, Estonia, was a Greco-Roman wrestling bronze medal winner in middleweight class at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.Steinberg was also three times Estonian wrestling champion 1921-1923, coached by Robert Oksa.He died during illness, age 28. A bronze medal is a medal awarded to the third place finisher of contests (typically athletics competitions) such as the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, etc. The practice of awarding bronze third place medals began at the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis, Missouri, prior to which only first and second places were awarded.
