Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Rhaetian Alps are a part of the Central Eastern Alps along the Italian–Swiss and Austrian–Swiss borders, mostly located in the Graubünden canton in eastern Switzerland. Piz Bernina (13,284 ft/4,049 m), set on the Italian border, is the highest peak. The Rhaetian Alps contain the Albula, Bernina, Bregaglia, Rätikon and Silvretta subranges. The Swiss National Park is located in the eastern segment. The Central Eastern Alps (German: Österreichische Zentralalpen, Austrian Central Alps) are the core ranges of the Eastern Alps with the highest peaks, located between the Northern Limestone Alps and the Southern Limestone Alps, from which they differ in geological composition. They extend from the Bernina Range in Graubünden eastern Switzerland through Liechtenstein to the west as far as to the lower promontories east of the Mur river including the Hochwechsel in Styria in the east.
