He has been the writer of many short stories and novels specializing on the subject of human psychology, grass root people and family ties. Many of his literary works have been translated into various Indian languages including Hindi and Telgu. Prados Mishra was born in the village of Tarading, Athagarh sub division in Cuttack district. His father was a freedom fighter and participated in the Prajamandala Andolan. His mother was from the Rajguru family. He was the nephew of JayKrushna Mishra, the eminent poet of India. His preliminary education was in the Athgarh high school. He finished his graduation from the BJB college in Bhubaneswar. He holds an Mtech degree in Metallurgy from NIT Rourkela. Technically he is an Ultrasonic specialist, currently working as an executive in Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). He is married since year 1979 and had a son and a daughter.
