We will try to study the place of photography during the period of the 2003 Iraq war in the written press, with reference to the American magazine News Week International and the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi, to see how such a "social space" is constructed as a symbolic space through mediation. We have chosen this theme because "the question of territorialization constitutes one of the major axes of the reflection engaged today by researchers in communication", according to Bernard Miège's statement. It is the domain of all passions, as our study of the photojournalism of 'social space' in Iraq during the last conflict in 2003 will attest.
