In general, when we intend to measure physical quantities such as direction, presence or non-presence,current, rotation and angle, we use magnetic sensors. In this project the reader can gradually build up an understanding of magnetic position detectors to learn its principles.Depending on the kind of the measurable position, they can be divided into two main categories: linear position detectors and angular position detectors both of these position detectors are in themselves divided into absolute position detectors and increasing or counting position detectors. Output of position detectors can be analogue or digital and if A/D converters are used a digital output can be obtained.
