Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common disease among thecentral nervous system (CNS) diseases, mainly affected young adults ,it’s a dangerous chronic neurological disorder leads to demyelination and inflammation of white matter in the CNS.MS commonly begins between the age of 20 and 40, Men have a low risk compared to women by 3 folds. MS pathology is clinically recognized as big plaques with many focals and no mylelin sheath. Also loss of with oligodendrocyte and the axons usually are degenerated .Early phases of MS, the blood-brain barrier integrity is shown to be compromised, causing the monocytes and T cells invasions into parenchyma of the brain, therefore, the MS characteristic is the de-mylination of lesions. Environmental risk factors are of two types infectious and non-infectious factors. Non-infectious factors caused development of MS such as: low levels of vitamin D which is linked in the association between the latitude and MS risk. MS showed a complex etiology and demonstrated a link between the genetic and environmental factors.
