Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Camp Ashraf massacre was a raid by the Iraqi Army against the residents of Camp Ashraf on April 8, 2011. During the confrontation, the Iraqi Army reportedly employed armed violence against unarmed civilians, killing 34 and injuring 318. Camp Ashraf is located northeast of the Iraqi town of Khalis, about 120 kilometers west of the Iranian border and 60 kilometers north of Baghdad, and is the seat of the People's Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI), an Iranian opposition group, in Iraq. The United States, Iraq and Iran have designated the PMOI a terrorist group, though not the European Union or United Nations.
