Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Abruzzo regional election of 1990 took place on 6 May 1990. Christian Democracy was by far the largest party, while the Italian Communist Party came distantly second. After the election Christian Democrat Rocco Salini formed a centre-left government. In 1992 Salini, who was elected to the Italian Parliament, was replaced as President by fellow Christian Democrat Vincenzo Del Colle. The Politics of Abruzzo, Italy takes place in a framework of a presidential representative democracy, whereby the President of Regional Government is the head of government, and of a pluriform multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the Regional Government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the Regional Council.
