Artemisia verlotiorum (Chinese Mugwort) is one of several species in the genus Artemisia which is native to East Asia - Kamchatka, North Japan and China. It is an invasive weed, widespread in Europe, North Africa, Central and East Asia. It is named for J.B. Verlot, who first distinguished the plant from Artemisia vulgaris in 1877, and is sometimes referred to as Verlot's Mugwort.
