Second Expedition of Wadi al-Qura took place in January, 628AD, 9th month of 6AH of the Islamic calendar The raid was carried out by Zaid ibn Haritha or Abu Bakr, as a revenge for an initial unsuccessful raid against the Banu Fazarah, in which many Muslims were killed.Zayd conducted several warlike raids of inferior importance. In one of these operations, he set out for a mercantile trip to Syria to do some border trading there. When he arrived at Wadi al-Qura, he raided the inhabitants there. However, he was Ambushed soon after, his caravan was waylaid and was attacked, by Banu Fazarah tribe, and a number of Muslims were killed. Zayd himself was also wounded.
