Roman Rurua (born 25 November 1942) is a former Soviet wrestler and Olympic Champion.He competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City where he won a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, the featherweight class. At the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo he won a silver medal. He is four time world champion in 1966 , 1967 ,1969 , 1970 years. Greco-Roman wrestling (or Graeco-Roman; see spelling differences) is a style of wrestling that is practised worldwide. It was contested at the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and has been included in every edition of the summer Olympics held since 1908.
