Maria del Carmen Perez Jimenez Barradas (18 March 1888 – 12 May 1963) was a Uruguayan pianist, composer, and choral teacher. She used the stage name Carmen Barradas. Maria del Carmen Pérez Jiménez was born in Montevideo and studied with Antonio Fran, Aurora Pablo and M. Lopes Vicente. In 1916 her family moved to Spain, where she gave a concert of her own works in 1917. She lived and composed in Spain until 1922, then returned to Montevideo in 1928 and took a position teaching at the Institutos Normales.
