Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Suryavanshi Rashtrakut Danesara Rathore Kul Vanshaj Rao Shobhit, founder of the Sohar Rathore clan, was the son of Rao Salkha and was the younger brother of Rao Mallinath, ruler of Mahewa of western Rajputana of India. He extended the boundaries of the Rathore kingdom to the east of the capital Mahewa by a military campaign. Rao Mallinath conquered Fort Siwana from Turks and granted it to rule and administer to Rao Shobhit and his elder brother Rao Jaitmal. Rao Shobhit and Rao Jaitmal ruled Fort Siwana, until Jagmal, son of Rao Mallinath, murdered Rao Jaitmal and substituted another brother Rao Viramdev. Fort Siwana was deliberately abandoned to save the dignity of the Rathore kingdom. Later, Rao Viramdev, being the noble house of Rathore power, according to the principles of chivalry, gave shelter and protection to the Johia Muslims against then Muslim Sultanate of Delhi when they came to him for help. In turn, Rao Viramdev was assassinated by the Johia Muslims.
