Juan Joya Cordero (born February 25, 1934 in Lima, Peru; died March 29, 2007) is a former Peruvian football (soccer) player, recognized as one of Peru's most important strikers. He established himself as a left-winger during the 1960s in the most successful team in the history of Peñarol of Uruguay winning 11 major titles and remains one of their most iconic players. Also known as "Negro el once", Joya started his playing career in the youth team of Alianza Lima. Joya helped the team to win back to back titles in 1954 and 1955. In 1958, Joya scored 17 goals in 18 matchs of the Peruvian league, making him the league's top goalscorer.
