Fisheries provide economic-support directly and-indirectly to the large-majority of people and serve-as source-of sound-protein. An estimate of potential fish-yield (94,500ty-1+5.2%) is far above the current yield (51,481 ty-1) levels, suggesting substantial scope for fisheries-expansion in Ethiopia and-Tropics. Despite favorable physical-hydrographic conditions [suitable geographic-relief, rich-soil-quality, good mean-annual-rainfall & sufficient-freshwater-runoff (122-BMC) &-underground (4.5-BMC availability], aquaculture production is negligible. Consequently, the per-capita consumption of fish(0.2-kg) is much-lower compared to east-Africa(2.6kg). Aquaculture facing-tribulations: limited-technologies, mismanagement, lack-of scientific-skills of the-farmers. This condition is supported-by lack of-books and practical-guides inline to the Higher-Institution’s-Harmonized Teaching-Curriculum. This-work, therefore, is presents fundamental and modern-management-skills to enhance fisheries and-aquaculture-development. The-book benefits Fish-farming-Farmers, Fishermen, Lecturers, Students, Extension-agents and-Policy-makers mainly in Ethiopia and the Tropics.
