This paper presents the rationale and necessity for the sustainability of business in the modern business environment, especially for the aspect of sustainable transportation, by analyzing the world’s famous retailing companies- Wal-Mart and IKEA’s sustainable transport actions. It is argued that sustainable transportation is an effective way for protection of the environment and improving the transport efficiency as well.
